Quick Tips

This page contains some helpful information from Ink & Timber Pens.

Frequently Asked Questions

Are Ink & Timber’s Pens Refillable?

Yes! These pens are not disposable, but are designed to be reusable.

What refills do you recommend for BALLPOINT PENS?

Ballpoint pens usually take Parker style refills. I recommend the Schmidt EasyFLOW 9000, However, if you prefer a Gel style writer, then the Parker QUINK (Amazon Affiliate Link) is another great option.

What refills do you recommend for ROLLERBALL PENS?

For rollerball pens, I recommend the Schmidt 5888. I have this refill for sale on my website so you can order spares with your pen. You can also readily find these on Amazon and other retailers (https://amzn.to/3ehAq9v).

What type of cartridges do I need for a FOUNTAIN PEN?

All of my pens will accept Short International Standard Ink Cartridges (Amazon Affiliate Link). These come in many different brands and colors to suit your need and preferences.

Can I use bottled fountain pen ink with your FOUNTAIN PENS?

Yes. Ink & Timber Fountain pens come with standard with a piston converter (unless otherwise specified). You can get bottled fountain pen ink from Amazon, but I also suggest checking out GouletPens.com. They have over 800 inks to choose from, and offer many of them in inexpensive ink sample vials.

How do I CHANGE THE INK?

There are several short videos at the bottom of this page where I walk you through changing the ink refills, and filling a fountain pen with ink.
